Jamie Robinson
Founder and Artistic Director
Jamie Robinson is the founder of DEAFinitely, Inc. and serves as the Artistic Director for the organization. Jamie has over 20 years’ dance experience as a former competitive and company dancer, as well as choreographer and coach of multiple college and high school dance teams, both Deaf and hearing. Jamie served as a lead dancer for Up With People, an international travel program that empowers young adults to make a difference in the world through volunteering, leadership, and performing arts.
With a Master’s Degree in Deaf Studies from New York University, Jamie has been a part of the Deaf community for over 20 years. In addition to teaching dance in the Boston Deaf community, Jamie worked in the national disability community for over 15 years to promote equal opportunity in employment and financial empowerment for individuals with disabilities and Deaf community. In partnership with national, state and local Deaf organizations, Jamie led work to expand communication access to employment and the financial mainstream for the Deaf community, as well as served as a Subject Matter Expert in equal opportunity and non-discrimination for the national public workforce system. As a person with nonvisible disabilities, Jamie is an impassioned advocate for celebrating differences and using them to drive life’s work. As such, she is committed to ensuring that DEAFinitely remains Deaf-centered in all of its leadership, staffing, programming, participants and community partnerships.
